Writer and Educator

Working in the field of education has been my first focus.  I have been working the past 20 years with children with special needs.  I have Masters’ Degrees in Special Education and Behavior Analysis.  Throughout my career, I have been a Special Education Teacher, Behavior Specialist, School Trainer and currently Special Education Administrator. I have utilized picture books throughout my career, from academic to social emotional lessons. 

As a mother of two young children, I find picture books a gateway to opening conversations.  First, when babies are born they ask us for food and love, then as they grow, they ask us to tell them stories. That is what I do, I am a story teller. I have a self-published book and a traditionally published (Sage’s Tower Publishing) book coming out soon. Participating in Pitch Wars, Twitter Contest have helped me continue to learn and grow with my craft. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes me.
